When you stay with us, you're within easy driving distance to a wide variety of attractions. For nature lovers, the Land Between the Lakes offers over 200 miles of hiking and biking trails, a drive-through elk and bison range is also a major attraction. The area also boasts several major golf courses, over 200,000 acres of water for fishing, boating, and swimming plus a water park, miniature golf and many other family-friendly activities. Antiques abound in our area, and the Amish community is just a short drive away. From a Branson-style stage show to casino action to horseback rides, the lakes area has something for everyone.

Kentucky State Penitentiary

Standing high above Lake Barkley, the KY State Penitentiary looks more like a medieval castle than it does a prison, which prompted the nickname "The Castle on the Cumberland." The Castle is the only maximum security prison in KY and houses all death row inmates. Although tours are not permitted, the prison is worth the trip to see the facility. Rose Hill Museum is across the street and houses artifacts and history of the prison.

The Trail starts on Lake Barkley Drive in old Kuttawa. Vacationers will find a peaceful setting with over 3 miles of hiking and biking trails. Located across from the old Kuttawa public boat ramp.
