We’re still in Cape May, Delaware. We came in Wednesday after traveling from Annapolis. The light house in the water is on the Ship John Shoal light on the Delaware Bay. It interesting to see so many lighthouses on the Bays and know they have been there since the mid 1800’s. I would have liked to have seen them constructed.

The land based lighthouse is on the southernmost shore of New Jersey in Cape May. The beaches here are beautiful and white sand and miles long along the town of Cape May.

This town has been a Victorian surprise. If you like gingerbread and multi colored paint schemes this is the place. A dear friend of ours joined us Thursday afternoon from Columbia, SC, Jan Ziegler. We all enjoyed walking through the town seeing all the beautiful homes. Many are Bed and Breakfast Inns. This is truly an old resort town for folks from Philadelphia, Wilmington and other surrounding big cities to spend their summers at the beach and cooler. One of the pictures you see is from Jackson Street. I’m afraid the photo won’t do the colors and architecture justice.

We plan to move to Beach Haven, New Jersey tomorrow where we will leave the boat and come home for the Memorial Day week end.
